Writer/composer Eli Pasic (whom the Toronto Star describes as “ruthlessly hilarious”) premieres a concert performance of his new theatrical extravaganza: The Exorcist! A New Musical Comedy!
A cast of nine bring to life this outrageous parody of the 1973 horror classic at the Al Green Theatre (750 Spadina Ave.) for two performances only: Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31— both at 8 pm.
Don’t miss this tuneful jaunt that will spark your imagination to run wild. You will be possessed with laughter from start to finish!
The score features 13 original songs, including "I Feel Like Hell (But You Look Divine)”, "I Am The Very Model Of A Psychopharmacologist”, and everyone’s favourite, "Simply Call The Exorcist”.
It is 90 minutes of profane and profound hilarity performed by some of Toronto’s best musical theatre talent, including Tristan Claxton, Tom Finn, Kevin Forster, Rachel Hart, Madeline Kennedy, Lauren Mayer, Rob Sapienza, Kathleen Welch, and, of course, your host for this evening of blasphemy, Eli Pasic himself at the baby grand piano.
Pasic goes to places you don’t expect—then drags you along five miles further. His original songs are always tuneful, cheeky, and unabashedly dirty.
Pasic’s lyrics are clever and often surprising, and yes, they incorporate all the profanity and bodily fluids of the original. A delightfully strange mashup. Entirely enjoyable.
If you think you know The Exorcist,
think again!
Your mother sucks c**** in hell…and she’ll be droolin’ over this one too!
Only two performances
(Feel free to come in costume… if you are so compelled!)
Mature themes, strong language, irony, sarcasm and all sorts of shenanigans and nonsense.

Confessions
This is a staged concert performed by a cast of nine. The actors will be at music stands. The Narrator will be at the baby grand piano.
Ninety minutes, no intermission. The time will fly by. You’ll be levitating in joy.
Yes, you will! The performance starts at 8 pm, so you will be able to participate in the trick-or-treat tradition, which usually begins around 5 pm and ends by 7 pm. The performance should end around 9:30 pm, so you’ll be able to go straight to your first Halloween party. No doubt you have many invitations.
It’s more than okay. It’s highly recommended! You have many choices:
- Regan MacNeil, the teenage girl whom the devil possesses and who suffers many inglorious episodes. Anyone for pea soup?
- Chris MacNeil, the glamorous stage and screen star who can’t comprehend what on earth is happening to her daughter.
- Father Karras, the young priest and psychiatrist who is struggling with a crisis of faith.
- Father Merrin, the seasoned priest and archeologist who has performed many exorcisms, but always has time for one more.
- The star attraction himself, the demon Pazuzu. The less said about him, the better.
Don’t forget, the story takes place in the ‘70s, when fashion was wild. Just think of the fun you’ll have choosing a hairstyle.
Bonus: If you come in costume, after the performance you won’t have to rush home to change. You can go straight to your many parties of the night.
The Exorcist! tells an adult story and is recommended for 16+. (The original film had an R rating.) It explores faith and the supernatural. It uses strong language. Notice the use of asterisks in the show's description above.
